Ad Blockers for You Tube

Recommended Pharmacies on Pharmacy Reviewer

Have never seen more ads on YouTube before. Aren’t there are more ads on YouTube because they want to to pay for the ad free subscription?

I have been blocked a few times now. I tend to turn off my blocker for a day and consume the ads:(

I then turn the blocker back on after about 24 hours and it normally lasts a week or so until I do the same stunt.

Been watching Youtube ad free for a few days again now...

Use Brave browser, no sketchy extensions needed. It's the fastest browser, no ads, no tracking. Saves about 3 hours per year in simply the time it takes to load pages.

Why use a sketchy extension or third party site that tracks you when you can use a browser that doesn't track, protects against advertisements that track - and the site you are visiting thinks it is Chrome - Brave is built on open source Chrome.
Yes, you should learn how to verify the download. I just don't understand why people allow themselves to be tracked... or watch advertisements which track.

Anything you find that works today might not work tomorrow. They're working REALLY hard to prevent blocking in hopes of getting paid subscriptions.

That said basically all the viable options are already in the thread just know they might stop working at any moment and you're back to square one, personally I've cut way back in YT because of it.

If you want to do more work than needed... what I used to do was use pihole on a raspery pi router... not sure if it works with YT. It sends a mesage to the ad servers that the ad has been received and ad server generally stopped trying. Costs money for the hardware, and software needs to be kept up to date.
Can't fathom why a person would subject their soul to advertisements.
Use a browser extension and you are getting fuked in your sleep, a redirecting website, worse.
I made it through the last two election cycles without ever seeing a single political ad on anything I own - doubt anyone else can claim that.
Maybe setup a bot that makes advertisers think they are paying to have propaganda delivered to sponsors willing to pay and drain their campaign accounts?
People that think will always win.

Used to play with OpenWrt back in the day. Dumpster dived for those crappy Linksys routers; blasted the firmware with DD-Wrt and opened up the hardware features. Sold them on Kijiji for 50 bucks. I was broke and desperate.

I would not mind the advertisements, if they were not mostly for that STUPID game where they use fake gameplay elements in the advertisement. "Age of Heroes" I think is the one? EVERY DAMNED VIDEO I get one of their advertisement!

Certain sites whine at me for using an ad blocker but I ignore them. If I can't access it with the blocker I simply will go elsewhere. There is no site I have to be on that pulls that trick, government sites don't do it.

I cut the sound on ads and when the 'skip' button comes up, I click it. Otherwise you could be stuck in a 5 minute ad. You have to watch out for their word games

Video will start soon = 2 ads
Video starts in 8, 7, 6 ... = legit
Ad ends in 9, 8, 7, ... = There is another ad after this one
Video starts after ads = 2 ads

At least it's not the 'gotta poop' ads that @caramia posted about!

I'm always getting them! There's one that supposedly leads to a gastro something expert (who of course has a pill to sell) and now I'm getting one where a woman hysterically says her mother didn't 'poop' for 3 days and had to be taken to hospital. Three days? And she had to be operated on? Reeeeaaally?? I think that is the gist of it anyway. I skip it or ignore it or something. My aunty used to say she only 'went' once a week. I think that would be rather uncomfortable. 😲

I don't know why I get those ads. It's not my browsing history. I have no trouble in that department - not that anybody needs to know that, lol - and I haven't got a poop fetish! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I despise ads as well, and you tube is going fucking nuts with them lately. You Tube is going to war with ad blockers , making updates to the YT software that temporarily will make ad blocker plug ins stop working, I tried other plug ins but could not get anything to work with Firefox. If this happens to you, get Brave Browser Secure, Fast, & Private Web Browser with Adblocker | Brave It automatically blocks you tube ads and is a solid browser.

I won't use Edge or any built in browsers just on principle

Happens here as well; Admin bestows justice and levers down your account so some posts are out of synch and less relevant.

Similar to the Game of Thrones going on in PR;)
The Brave browser works for no adds. Hope that helps. I only skimmed through, so if someone already mentioned it, I'm sorry.
Not indexed with Google.
A learning browser defined by user preference and not ads.
I like it

Looks like my adblocker of choice "AdGuard AdBlocker" has announced they are going to go 1:1 with Youtube, and implement a new filter update mechanism that will allow them to update faster...

FYI it's working currently and blocking ads on Youtube

The main problem ad blockers face is how quickly YouTube changes its ad-blocking detection mechanisms. Filter and extension updates often can't keep up with this in real time. And even when filter maintainers make timely changes to their filters, it can take a day or two for those updates to reach users.

We at AdGuard are going to speed up this process with a new feature — differential filter update. Once we add this feature to our extensions, filters will be updated as quickly as possible. Keep an eye on our news!

I now don't use my phone for You Tube any more, I use the app on my TV and no adds appear. Whilst it's not as convenient as using my laptop, it is add free that way. If I use my phone or my laptop, the adds appear.
