All this talk about love letters and no one ever mentioned the second page?

@Peanutheadm, I have rec'd 2 LL over the years. I do not place a lot of orders. I only remember 1 page on mine. The 2nd one my husband opened...and he hit the roof. It was most unpleasant. I could not convince him that we were not in danger of being raided and all of our property seized. He extracted a promise from me never to order again...which I feel really terrible about since I did not keep the promise. He recently decided he wants to order ivermectin...I am researching for him, so maybe I have been redeemed. Anyway, the LL are scary, but I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it.

Hi-your comment was several months ago but just wanted to share that you can get ivermectin legally through teledoc. There are many doctors who believe in its benefits and they have banded together and offer "prevention" and "currently sick" packages.

Got two LLs over my years of doing this (at least 5-6 years worth). First letter was short, only like a page long, and indicated what I had ordered, that someone had tried to send it to me and that they had seized it and it would be destroyed unless I contested it (which I of course did not). Second letter on the other hand...yikes! SEVEN pages long and with all the scary options you described, including SEVEN checkboxes as to what I wanted to do (forfeit the merchandise, contest the seizure, go to court, etc). I ignored that one too. Silence. I did however stop using the address in question, changed up vendors for a bit and cleaned house as a just in case. (The address was just as well anyway; hubby was beginning to ask some questions that I didn't want to have to explain to him). So that was that. I'm actually about to dump the new address, as I haven't had anything official happen. but I think the guy who runs the place (PO Box) opened one of my packages and was nosing around. (Luckily this vendor has excellent stealth and he found nothing even though it was in there lol). But that was too close for comfort.

If the P.O. Box guy actually opened a package, that would be a felony on his part, I believe…But if I had any doubts there I’d definitely dump it.

I also think CBP made the LL’s longer and more “involved” for the fear factor. And they are scary. But pretty much everyone here has likely had at least one. Don’t ever hear of anything else happening. In fact I worry more if something is likely seized but no LL shows up. Considering how much contraband is still flowing it does feel like they can’t have much extra time to pursue anyone ordering personal use meds, again imho.

Only 2 over the last several years is damn good if you ask me. But I also understand your reluctance to use your own addy again. Can always get another P.O. Box with someone else?

Thankful that many of the more high end vendors are going to greater lengths to help stuff get thru 👍

I have only gotten one LL, maybe 7 years ago * edit 5 years ago (kept the letter in the safe like it was a badge of honor or something, burning it now). I was very new to it and I didn't get the LL until 6 months after I had placed the order. I was so new (and wary) I didn't even contact the vendor. When I got the LL, I think my heart skipped a couple beats. It was the one page letter. Short and not so sweet, I could write to contest it if I wanted (yeah right). I had ordered a small amount of what is now the most common med for sleep in the U.S., even worse I already had a legit prescription for it. So dumb. I mistakenly thought our conservative dr. would eventually get me and hubs off of it, and he suffered greatly from insomnia. We are still on it with no issue. I didn't respond and I thank this forum for getting me through that. I have always had a fear of authoritay lol.

This is one of my fave topics for sure. I’ve only ever gotten two, and thank heavens for discussion forums like this one or I would have gone into a tailspin on the first one. I was wondering what was taking my order so long, and I found out when I got that letter, which was 2 pages that looked like they’d been run through a copier 20 times. The second page was a sort of ‘beware of illegal sources you never know what’s in them drugs’ warning.

Second one, years later, wasn’t even a letter. My package arrived open, with some customs tape on it and a little note inside telling me I’d be hearing from them. I didn’t.

Was the second one thru the southwest port? That sounds like their M.O.

I think a person is doing quite well if that’s the only LL’s experienced.

I had my share when things got so tight - especially at LA. BUt only one since that flurry at least 3-4 years ago.

@jaders Louisiana is where I got that second one. Is that through sw port? It really hurt my heart to see that good ol’ familiar padded envelope just empty like that. And sending it along with all that bright green customs tape all over? I felt marked (right or wrong) and I changed my p.o.

I’m glad to hear the seizures eased up on you. I know it’s a blessing to have only gotten 2.

I was referring to Los Angeles POE (port of entry.) They’re the only place that I know of who take out the contents but send the original “package” along. 🤬

If you can avoid that port, I highly recommend doing so. It’s as tough as they come.

I maybe off topic, however I just got a text from USPS informed delivery saying that I have an overseas package coming tomorrow. And I'm pretty sure I don't have anything coming to me. I'm scared I don't know what else to say...

Seeings how no one has control over what is mailed to them, I wouldn’t be all that worried. You certainly can’t be in any legal trouble over something you have no part in.

You could also just send it back unopened if you’re certain it isn’t anything you ordered at any point?

Hope you’ll let us know how this turns out tho? 🤔

@jaders Thank you, I absolutely will update how it turns out
It arrived at my regional delivery center fine however it just landed in the wrong towns post office.
The zip codes are off by one digit. Mine ends in "01" and the other town which is about 30 min north of me ends in "02"

Gotta love USPS  also I got to thinking last night and there was one time about a year ago that one overseas letter didn't ever get to me. I did get the reship fine. Hmm... the plot thickens.

Can’t wait to hear what it is! 😃

@jaders
This is weird and Im freaked. So I have been dog-house sitting after my regular job for a week. It is not near my home.
So I kept watching the tracking at work on Friday. Not stalking the number just checking on it every couple of hours. So it finally got to my local PO no "out for delivery" scan. Friday night about 6PM I get a text (i signed up for USPS texts long ago) it says :

Delivered
Delivered, Individual Picked Up at Post Office
Aug 05, 2022 at 5:15 pm

image of verifed confirmation
USPS Electronic Signature Online Applied
(I do have my sig on file)

So I'm freaked out it wasnt me or anyone in my household that picked it up. Today after work I am going to the PO and asking them about it.
I'm more freaked out that someone is stealing my identity or something. I checked my bank accounts, credit cards etc over the weekend and everything is fine. I also am signed up for Credit Karma, etc. I do not have Lifelock and will look into it.

@jaders
Ok all that worry for a ridiculous error. My condo complex is stupid. They only have 7 named streets and 2 with the same name.
That's the 1st problem however mixed up mail (has not happened to me until the package fiasco) but others it has.

One street name ends in "Drive" & the other ends in "Place" so the shipper had my neighbor that lives on "Place" label correct.
However when shipper put it in the USPS system shipper chose my address ending in "Drive" which then of course triggers on my
USPS informed delivery.... all that worry over the weekend. Lesson learned!

So this was all about a package that was really meant for your neighbor but because of the street name issues, it showed up as coming to you, but was still finally delivered where it rightfully belonged - your neighbor?

Yeah this is why I avoid tracking like the plague. There are just too many variables that can make you bonkers.

I understand being signed for alerts and texts so you can be home, etc. But I’ve had a few sleepless nights and ocd hours of hitting the track button every few minutes myself, to ever want to put myself thru it again.

I’m glad it turned out ok tho! Time to relax…😃

@Doc Rogue same. My husband knows and like twice a year will ask me for a pill cocktail for whatever ailment he has. He’s like the opposite of me- not a single med in his daily routine. Lucky guy. Those few times he has severe pain it reminds him of what I go through on a daily basis. Anyway, I try to keep my ordering business private bc the one time he opened a pkg he called me downstairs and told me to get the kids and leave the house bc he thinks someone sent us a “poison bomb”. It was the SY packing variety you know what Im talking about lol.

I explained to him and prior he’d been cool with it bc he thought these were like at least legit pharmacies, then when it was right in front of his face he grew concerned about my safety and my families and I almost bailed then but instead I smartened up and tried to do most of my orders from very stealthy peoples and my Husband just kinda turns an eye as long as I’m out of pain he doesn’t bug me about it anymore.

Still, I long for a day when I can just get prescribed the amount I neeed. It would save me so much money. I’m terrified of leaving my current doctor and going to someone who pushes injections and triptans. At least my currnt doc prescribes opioids even tho they are weak.

@Peanutheadm I don't think you need to reply. Mostly they'll just destroy or retain the contents. They don't really have the resources or man power to runaround after small infringements like this. My advice would be to just ignore it and accept the loss

This happened to me. My vendor knew before I did that the original wasn't getting to me and messaged to let me know that my new order was going out as of x date and should reach me by y date. My dumb ass was like huh? What new order? I only placed one. Then I put two and two together and realized. I never got package #1, package #2 came (although it very obviously had been opened and then resealed), and another package from a separate vendor also came (also opened and taped shut). Both 2 and 3 still had their product (bless the caution these guys have!) and I never heard anything else on #1, no LL or anything. I just never got it. I did dump that address shortly after anyway though, just because the PO box guy was becoming way more inquisitive than I would like. A big box mailing store that is nearby is better, and I scoped it out (they have young kids working there for like $12 an hour, so those folk really don't care about the package coming for box 123 on Thursday and will just toss it in the box and be done with it, because they're slammed with customers all day long and just want to get the job done as quickly and easily as they can, versus the guy who owns his own small shop and therefore is a lot more familiar with how many packages box 123 has had this month and where those packages have come from). Far better to go with a busy place if you are doing something that you would prefer not getting noticed.

For sure. I did NOT reply. And my sender was kind enough to reship for free.

Sounds corny, but, Its so nice to have a place to discuss things like this. We are not all alone. I know that I keep my habits secret from EVERY ONE (even my husband sees the charges but has no idea what I'm ordering or whatever).

At least here, we can be open and honest when we need to be. 💜
