I don't really like the original Star Trek. I will give it another chance when I get time, but The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager and Enterprise are the only ST. I like. Anything newer, sucks in my opinion. It looks really really good, but the writing is just never as good as it was in the TNG days.

I recently went back through and watched the entirety of Deep Space Nine. After that I did try to watch Picard ( it sucked ) I guess a lot of it is nostalgia as The Next Generation was new while I was in High School. Deep Space Nine is my favorite though. Watching every episode serially was very rewarding this past late Summer, I had never seen the entire story. I also tried Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda, I did like it but it's hard to rewatch because sometimes the writing is just bad, or bad compared to that of my favorites mentioned above

I liked it when I was kid and then I think the lastest stuff kinda was bad.

I refuse to watch Picard dispite my deep love for sir Patrick Stewart. No way I’m going to let them sully next gen for me.

Anecdotally, I was a server at a French cafe for a while and got a table full of eccentric old ladies. They were super sweet and very into my fashion sense and somehow some way we got on the subject of sci fi and one of the women just HAD to tell me about how the eldest of the ladies had met Patrick Stewart on the street one day and managed to become a lifelong friend. I looked at her jaw on floor and even though me and her friend were both acting starstruck just to be around someone who is long distance friends with Patrick Stewart, she brushed it off like it was no big deal. I want to be that cool one day.

Picard encompassed everything wrong with modern movies and series, and had none of the TNG S.T. qualities

@Just Alex How can anyone not like "real" Star Trek with Kirk? The Next Gen had some good stories but Picard is far too touchy feely. Same with DS9. Gave us a running joke "Are you, or have you ever been, a stick of broccoli?" Though I did give someone a Voyager alarm clock.
