I've heard various stories in other forums that it's possible one could get their shipping address "red-flagged" if you happen to receive too many LL's or otherwise have too many packs seized at Customs. So it's like your address gets put into a database and you will never receive any overseas packages again. Do you think this is a real possibility, or people just being paranoid and idle speculation??? Could this be a thing?

It's certainly very possible. Some vendors insist you find another mailing address after you've had X amount of seizures. Other will know more that me, limited experience with international

I do believe customs flags destination addresses that have had seizures in the past........at least the recent past....in my own experience. I made a small order in October that went through customs just fine and it landed. I repeated it the next month with another order from the same vendor and it got seized. (first time seizure for me). Vendor honored his reship policy and immediately reshipped to the same address and it initially went through customs just fine.....but then got recalled by customs just as it reached the closest distribution center to my home. I had another seized the following week (entirely different vendor). That was 3 quick seizures in a small amount of time from 2 different vendors but shipped to the same address. At that point I changed my shipping address and I've now landed 2 packs in a row that breezed through customs.

The evidence is circumstantial but it appears to me that once I had a seizure that they had flagged my address and that's why they snatched the next 2 packages (including recalling one out of the USPS system that had cleared customs initially). I've now had 2 clean delivers to a new mailing address. Coincidence? Possibly.......but unlikely.

Very interesting! And the ones that breezed thru recently - are they from the same vendor that got seized twice in a row originally?

I definitely agree that if you get two seizures in a row, even if not the same vendor - I'd be trying a different address next, at least for awhile...

@jaders Yes, one of the 2 most recent deliveries to the new shipping address was from the same vendor that I had been seized twice in a row on the previous address. Could be just random dumb luck to have 3 seizures in a row from 2 vendors......but I don't trust that address for anything but domestic ordering for a bit. Maybe I'll try again in 6 months to year with another small international order to that address and see how it goes. Prices are better than domestic.

OMG my story is somewhat similar to yours in that, according to the UPS tracking info, mine had cleared Customs , then was recalled almost immediately and returned to Customs purgatory. My vendor honored a reship using Canada Post instead of UPS this time and so far after two weeks nothing has landed. (I have no tracking info for the Canada Post item.)

So it's not looking good. And I really want fight this UPS seizure because it's a legitimate, non-scheduled item so WTF ?? A did file a claim , but they tell me I haven't described the product to sufficient enough detail ...which shouldn't have any bearing on the issue. It's obvious what the item is for Pete's sake!!!!! I should probably just let it go smh...frustrating though ya know? 😑

A NON-SCHEDULED item has been seized? WTF! I didn't think they ever nabbed those items! Do you have a possible alternate address to try? At least you don't have to worry about any creeps coming to the door for something non scheduled. What a complete waste of our government's time. People get meds from Canada constantly and even if they have a legit RX, it's still considered illegal, so why would they bother with yours? I don't blame you for wanting to fight it. I hope you have success!

That happened to me too. It made it all the way to my local post office and got flagged.

Flagged at local Post Office, that's a bit scary. I thought once it was out of customs it was as good as free. This is a new twist for me, specially being from a small town where everyone knows everyone.

yup; it was freaky because it seemed to indicate they had me flagged not the vendor so that convinced me to take a vacation until I can come up with some new ideas.

Happened to me last year. Lost 3 in a row (mine never made it as far as the post office) Initial order and then 2 reships. I was pretty close with the vendor and they even advised my address may be flagged as their other orders made it through. Sent the 4th one to another address and it came right through.

@Mick2 folks say no, but it makes perfect sense that an address would be flagged for “auto seizure” after a few nobs in a short time. I want to say “how dumb is the government not just to spend the little time and effort where they know where the repeated “offenders” are…but then I re read the statement and think…”hmmmmmm maybe they don’t). but I know the IRS will ride your ass if you’ve been busted in the past …so why wouldn’t the customs agency?

I certainly believe they do. I've now 5/5 at the new address including the 2 vendors that had been involved in the 3 consecutive seizures just before that at the old address I was using. I don't believe for a second that's coincidental. Once they seized one that's all it took to flag my address.

Couldn't agree more with Mick2. My address was flagged after my first seizure. It always puzzled me as it didn't make much sense why they would bother flagging my address, but yet they did. I could see if I was ordering multiple packages frequently or in large quantities. My orders were always small personal amounts and pretty well packaged by the vendor.

@Caddy99 Honestly, it's probably just a numbers thing. Parcels sent to addresses that have been seized in the recent past are probably of exponentially higher chance to contain an item prohibited by law than just a random pack sent in the mail to an address without any history. The overwhelming number of packages coming through every single day make it impossible to examine every single one in close detail. In fact, the vast majority probably get sniffed by a dog, pass a quick x-ray screen that can be fooled by vendors with good stealth, and are quickly through. By cbp placing their focus on previously seized addresses they've significantly upped their chances of finding something.

@Mick2 I've tried to find rhyme or reason to my own shipping successes and losses, and have asked about others here as well. It's definitely a volume thing most of all - unless, I suspect, the amounts involved are large, or Schedule I, etc. I mean - there are just so many packages that come through and so many things to look for.
