Chicago Customs - Recent Experiences?

Hi all! I was wondering if any of you have had any packages that recently went through, or are currently in ISC Chicago? I ask because I have a letter coming from Europe that has been "enroute to O Hare" for 5 days now without being scanned. Is that normal for it to be this slow at Chicago? Every other letter I've ever gotten has gone through ISC NYC so that's weird...

Hi Juju62861, all of my European parcels go through Chicago now. My latest has been sitting there since, 12-17-16 with no movement.
I think with the recent blizzards and the time of year, a lot of packages are being rerouted and things will take some time to shake loose.

Mine always seem to fly through Chicago. In fact I always hope it goes through Chicago instead of NY. The only negative I have noticed is there status takes 24 hours to update whereas NY is quicker to update but slower to send out

The last two packages I had from GB were OPPS for almost three weeks. I got local scan right before. The Royal Mail scan showed both of them going through Chicago. I seem to get better tracking out of NY.

Same here. Multiple letters have gone through NYC before without any problem tracking. Going on nearly 2 weeks without tracking for an order that is "on it's way to O' Hare"...

Mine just moved from "OPPS" to "********, IL" to "Chi Town Metro" this morning. Do you know if that means that it has made it through customs yet?

Yes! It's on it's way to you. Everything goes through customs. Once it's out it will show another city heading to you! Funny it's even updating today, but good

Btw I would delete the cities, unless it's general like Chicago L.A., etc... Just put asterisks. I'm paranoid but better to put less info out here just to be on the safe side!

Is it just me or is all international mail going to Ohio now going thru ISC Chicago instead of Ney York? My last 3 packs went to Chi-town instead of NY

I had an early December package that has been in OPPS since that time; it just now is being sorted at ISC Chicsgo.
At least some movement.

No other updates on the early December order and my reship and one other order from early January have been in OPPS for least 14 days. All three were sent to Chicago. I would almost feel better getting a LL. Kinda like having your spouse going missing. After a while you just relieved to find the body. Lack of any kind of updates is quite disheartening.

I have a feeling this is karma and the law of averages coming off the top row on me. I have never had to wait over 16 days for any IOP order ever and never had received a LL before. Looks like the gods are beating me down in one fell swoop. 3 orders and no progress on them. Very disheartening.

Hi wow the one early Dec is finally being sorted at isc Chi. That's a long time, must be registered. Did it go thru customs yet?
Sounds like yours are all registered since you're not getting updates.

And no you don't want a LL. I understand how you must feel but I would rather have never gotten a LL but I did & mine kept saying being processed by customs but never came out. It took about 2 1/2 weeks once it was in customs till I got my LL.

It sounds like you know they are all in Chi. Is that right? I am trying to figure it out by you saying they were all in opps but then sent to chi. How do you know they are there? Just curious. If they are registered they usually show opps for a few weeks. All my registered have made it max 35 days but most about 20-25.

Oh if they are registered I don't think you will get updates on them until they are in your PO. They changed that a while back. So you may only see CHI ISC till they are delivered but shouldn't take over a week to ten days once they are there till they arrive to you.

hi, i have a letter from india also. It was shipped January 21st arrived in Chicago January 25th. On track17.Com it says "india mubai air Insert item into bag (otb), air, isc Chicago il (usps) that is the latest update and its still "In transit" Does this mean it has or has not been through customs yet? Man this is crazy/Stressfull. Who are these people to tell us what medications we need or don't need?! My god, non of us should have to go through any of this! hey im from Ohio too, waiting on updates from Chicago isc. Last update January 25th... Omg is this stressful! This is my first ever iop order ever and really need the medication. On track17 its still sitting in Chicago listed as in transit... Lord, any news on yours?
