I received a letter that went through Chicago customs last month with no problems. It was not anything scheduled so that may be why.
It is gonna be a crapshoot either way. I don't think it is so much about stealth as it is about proper declaration. I've had stuff go thru easily when it was declared the right way...even if they said it was something else. If it looks like they are trying to hide something by a vague or no declaration...it will get looked at.I just had one hit Chi and inbound into customs? What are my chances it gets thru? i paid for extra stealth too
I got my first LL after a package was seized in Chicago. Same here, everything usually comes through NYC, so it was odd. Ordered back in June, and just got the letter a couple weeks back. I'm not 100% but, the terminology "Shipment detained by customs at destination", sounds like it's been seized to me. Sorry : /Welp, first package flew into Chicago for first time ever (usually it’s NYC) and while regular USPS tracking lists inbound into customs, parcels app lists it as “Shipment detained by customs at destination” per Quantum Solutions? Anyone familiar with that language on parcelsapp? And does that mean it’s goner?
I figured as much. Damn, and on the same day the plane landed, too. Surprised they even inspected it that fast with all the backlogI got my first LL after a package was seized in Chicago. Yeah, it's definitely a bummer @PeanutStar
I wonder if it's the backlog that is causing some parcels to go through CHI, rather than NYC. NYC might not have the resources, so some mail might be routed through CHI, during this whole thing? I'm not to sure, but might be worth doing some research.
I received a 50% reship on mine(way before I got the LL), months ago, after giving the initial shipment about 60 days to show up. In the letter, the image included looks like the package may have been damaged in a processing machine. Or they may have just made it look like that, and tore it new asshole for inspection.
Yeah, I received it "way before I got the LL" from CHI. It arrived in the regular amount of time, can't remember exactly, but within a few weeks max. I was still waiting for the original, for months(since June), and the LL just came in within the past few weeks. Must be some serious backlog in the postal system with everything going on, for them to take 4-5 months to get the letter out.Yeah, it's definitely a bummer @PeanutStar

@Crawlin. Wondering if you received the reship? And I assume that one did go to NY?
I have yet to read of a successful order being received thru CHI, for at least a year. Someone tell me I’m wrong! I would love to be…
That’s exactly why it’s being rerouted.Yeah, it's definitely a bummer @PeanutStar

I have something sitting there since 11-17, big order too. No updates or anything. Kinda worried but good stealth.
I have never taken an L yet but this one I feel will be one.
Had another guy get his taken mid December and he got an LL.
My vendor for years and years always was great there, and then this year it’s been horrible.I have something sitting there since 11-17, big order too. No updates or anything. Kinda worried but good stealth.

CHI seems completely impossible lately - seems like for the last year even. They must've gotten some new fascist administrator. It used to be quite reliable...I hope you do somehow get lucky tho. But I haven't read of a success story thru here in forever. Very sad and frustrating.
It is absurd.Even simple domestic items have been ridiculous. Ordered a case for my new phone this year. Didn't receive in three weeks. Contact seller, they ship out a replacement to make good. And then both cases show up two days later, on the same day... I threw one back in my mailbox to send it back to them.
It has to do with a lot of things. I need to do some research on this "Quantum Solutions" outfit. Either way I'm waiting a couple months before ordering anything abroad. Let the Holiday shipping chill down. Then see how it goes with ordinary items domestic and overseas. Then go ahead and try for a full package. Luckily I stock up, so I only order every once in a long while.

I happen to work with domestic and intl cargo going on 7 years.
I’ve never seen delays like this in my life.
I’ve even done Kustoms clearance etc and it is beyond crazy.
A lot of shipments are being moved via a commercial carrier, normally a 53’ van.
Guess what, we have so many drivers that quit , and it causes major delays.
For people like myself waiting for over a month, and others- the shipments come in a container.
They strip the container and then place them into bins, your bin may have had a misscan.
I see it daily, what happens is the volume coming in keeps piling up, they work on the current inbound cargo, and yours could be sitting behind 50+ bins, each day the overflow gets worse as yours keeps being pushed back, imagine a warehouse at 2000% capacity and the old shipments keep getting pushed back farther and farther.
With the overload, I doubt they are scanning 25% of the cargo after it heads out of kustoms.
Kustoms is understaffed, they do not have enough capacity to do their job on time.
They do not have the time to look at it even 1% of the cargo for extreme scrutiny. If the declaration or as we call it “waybill , HAWB, AWB” matches up, there should be no reason for examination any further.
Add in the holidays with people taking off (as I am now) and you have yourself a nightmare of misrouted, un scanned and bins that have been cleared but keep getting pushed back due to new shipments every second.
Honestly with the online demand, there can be packs at that hub for 90+ days before updating.
I work with a Ch! terminal , and it is one of the most delayed areas in the country.
The #1 most delayed would be anything coming in from the port sections of C@.
Me, too. My first Chicago entry in 7 years of ordering. Day 5 inbound to customs & counting. And of all the times of year it had to happen…ChristmasWell this is great my letter from last month just landed in Chicago.
