Is Cash App Safe?

@Slantedfloor EXACTLY, gets mad cause I don't come over but she doesn't come out to me. My 16yr boy is with me 24/7 always. I would be lost without him.

I find that Paypal has the best support for returns and scams

I use cash app for all my Bitcoin purchases and sending. Haven't had any issues so far, I'm sure there's probably a better alternative out there but it's just quick and easy to buy and send BTC

@Eriatarka there might be something out there easier/faster... but I don't know about it. If you find one by all means do please let us know. I don't know what improvements they could make. I know if you use with electrum yo can use the bump fee feature that allows you to increase the trans fee during the transaction and I assure you sooner or latter that will be of use.

Do you always send to electrum before sending to the vendor?

@jaders I apologize that I missed this one but this is what I have on that. Going back to the early Coinbase days they would summarily close your account if the sent to address was on a list of any sort whatsoever. So I learned about electrum at that point and have used it ever since. I do not use it to save bitcoin, simply as an intermediary. Possibly overkill but better too safe than not enough. You can bump the transaction fee, which will sooner or later will become essential. Whichever wallet you decide to use make sure there is a function on it to increase the transaction fee after it being initially sent. You will ultimately watch the transaction remain unconfirmed. You can right click on increase fee, do that then rebroadcast then in moments it starts hauling.... that is quite useful. I don't know and actually doubt how much cover that provides but it is at least 1 level above nothing, at the least. Since it is all public record unless you use some wild contrived scheme like tumbler may provide better anonymity but then we aren't double naught 7 either so how much do we need?
edit: oh yes, I do use electrum every time. it ends up costing a transaction fee but for me, yes, it is worth it.

Cash App is as safe as Venmo or Robinhood. (That is to say, it's definitely not 100% safe, as the legacy banking system is absurdly leveraged and rehypothecated). They are fully regulated, and like many financial institutions, they put tougher restrictions on letting people sign up when there's bitcoin involved.

What you really want to stay away from are exchanges that a.) aren't domestic to your country, and b.) offer a huge assortment of tokens that aren't bitcoin. Huge red flags.

It seems to be. I’ve been paying the guy who mowes my grandmothers yard (part of an estate) thru cash app. I’d mow it myself but I’m not making a 150 mile round trip every couple of weeks to do it. That’s the only payment type he accepts and have been paying him for a couple of years without problem.

you can send it to any wallet before sending to the vendor to avoid getting frozen by CashApp or whatever exchange you are using

the old school blockchain.com free wallet works just as good and you can create as many of those as you want.
