Any other insomniacs out there ever tried Melatonin restfine 10mg tablets?

I recently acquired a small quantity of these but haven't tried them yet. Are they similar to over the counter sleep meds such as Nytol or Sominex? I have tried over the counter sleep meds in my never ending quest to get a good nights sleep and none helped me with sleep but left me with hangover type symptoms the next day. I have had a look online and can't see much feedback on this med so just wondered if anyone here has tried it and if in reality will it help with chronic Insomnia. At this stage, I am willing to try anything if it will help me get some slumber:sleep::sleep::sleep:

Melatonin is an OTC sleep aid. For me, it helps me get to sleep faster for sure and can help with insomnia overall and it does not give me the hangover symptoms.... Tryptophan is another OTC product I like for sleep, but it can make you sleepy the next day if you take to much... I like it at 500mg but my partner likes it at 1000mg....This product helps me sleep longer overall which I need...Try it about 30 min to an hour before you want to sleep....

Thanks for the reply. I will deffo give it a go, you never know it could work well for me. Some of the OTC sleep aids are more anti histamine based and do cause groggy, hangover effects the next day. No...but my elderly father has become dependent on Ambien for sleep round 136 years now and asked me today if there was anything that could help him with sleep.

He's VERY desperate. I suggested Melatonin. I will let him know about the Tryptophan. Thanks @Turnham for starting this thread!

Look into CBD as well, I have a friend that was heavy into Ambien. Very hard to get off it but it can be done. She uses CBD, melatonin and tryptophan....

Thanks everyone. I still haven't tried it yet, had bad experiences with side effects from Sominex and Nytol which are UK based OTC sleep meds, but I think this is chemically different so shouldn't leave me with a hangover.

It's a good idea to be cautious and consider the differences in medications. Hopefully, this new one will work better for you without the side effects. 😴👍

From what I read( I don't take everything I read on the Internet as gospel, unless I'm comparing several sources saying the same thing) but it's not good to take Melatonin long term because it can interfere with certain hormones in your body.

@Turnham
I tried the Restfine 10mg a couple of weeks ago without much luck but have had good sleep for two nights taking a1mg melatonin gummy. I’m going to quarter the 10mg tabs and see if I get better results.

Yes I've tried it- didn't do anything- in fact it kept me more alert. I suppose everyone is different and different things work for different people. I know whenI have a colonoscopy they sedate you and give you pain relief- they were amazed that neither had any effect even when they doubled the dose!

it seems that you can’t buy it at all now (from the UK)

I used to get it from a European online shop and sent to the UK but now you can’t even get it from Europe anymore. I don’t know if it is now only prescription in Europe now too.

I had always found it really did help in getting me to sleep but not staying asleep.
