Understood, but I think it should be longer than 90 days. It might also take into account how many posts in the prior period as well. Some of us tend to "drift off" for a while - but this can be somewhat normal. But, if it is to be 90 days - then it will be 90 days. Thanks.

yea sounds like a great idea to me, especially considering the demotion is temporary only (or reversible if you will). But maybe exclude snooty's bistro from the list of acceptable forum posts or I smell abuse incoming . And *whew* got that one post out of the way in advance ;-)

Checking in, when I got the message that I had a private message I got on immediately. New policy noted. And as some of pointed out will keep those of us that have not posted as much more active.

I don't see anything wrong with that. Once every 90 days isn't asking much. I post a lot so I'm not really worried. Everything that was asked seems like a good idea. This is honestly the best forum I've ever been on. It's organized, runs smoothly and isn't confusing. Not to mention the members are so nice and helpful.

I agree with having a post requirement and 90 days doesn't seem unrealistic. But like @tiringnurse posted the drama and flames get to be a bit much. The same members posting the same holy than thou lines berating other members week after week - I'll pass and take a break. It happens on all forums though just the normal ebb and flow.....

A reminder pm would be a good idea if possible to remind a member they're close to be 'demoted'. Time slips by so fast sometimes - I know I lose track of it!

I'm sorry @fatalframe but I have to disagree with your opinion of excluding snooty's bistro from the list of acceptable forum post areas.

To be fair if that thread is excluded then •Sir• all off topic threads should be excluded for the simple reason posting abuse can happen in any off topic threads or anywhere on this forum.

For me the humor and ensuing laughter from that one thread has been invaluable. In fact better than any meds I've located through the resources available here and as you are aware there are many. I feel like I am not the lone person that holds this opinion.

I relay my opinion to you with no malice.

I thank you in advance and hope you understand our brand of humor (snooty's participants) and the value of freedom of speech.

I'm bumping this for you too boss-man. @drboris

@Sj2011: Oh, I see where you're coming from. Neither did I want to say that snooty's bistro is not important for this forum in its own right. My point was aimed at the mere fact that it should probably be quite easy to get 30 posts in that thread alone in 1-2 hours once you have a "chat" going with someone else. And if we're at that point already we might as well drop the whole idea of "downgraded" senior members having to post 30 posts before they can access the senior area again altogether (cause the way I understood it this change is supposed to "encourage" participation). I don't see how it would restrict your freedom of speech if snooty's bistro was excluded from the list of threads where you can amass the 30 posts to be reinstated. Nothing would stop you from posting in there even if it was (I mean if it's all about the laughs and all it shouldn't matter if it counts towards the 30 posts mark or not to begin with, right?).

But all in all this is a theoretical for all of us anyway. Posting once in 90 days to avoid this obstacle is not exactly demanding to begin with.

But I like the formal address, makes me all cozy inside ;).

I am one of those "lurk a lot" posters, and I agree with the requirement. I know when I first joined I was hesitant to post anything unless I truly thought it would be of service to the board, and even now haven't changed that much. I guess I'll try to be more diligent in jumping in more frequently. I have learned so much and am grateful for the information available here, I'm happy to comply with the rules!

Guilty as charged. This forum is the best and I have been remiss. I actually responded to a thread the other day and lost it somehow and said, "what the h#ll, I give up". I work full time and in my business this site would be grounds for dismissal. I prefer to post in the privacy of my home. The past 2 weeks, I have been recovering from foot surgery and instead of "downtime", my DH took the first week off and my grown children and grandchildren have been swinging on by not to forget to mention my well meaning friends. The day before my surgery, we got the green light to rebuild our house that was destroyed in Sandy. I am building a home, sight unseen, from my computer, yikes!!!!!!!!

Bottom line, everyone is busy today but I will make an effort to be more present and give back to this amazing forum!
Thanks for the reminder, Dr. Boris!

@fatalframe snootys bistro thread is only accessible in the senior section therefore a downgraded senior member would be unable to post in within that thread to rack up post counts.

In the past the administration structured it this way to keep visitors and prospective new members from stumbling across the thread and having the wit's scared out of them or being overly shocked.

In essence thats the entire value of having a senior section.

Pharmacy Reviewer Forum is freedom of speech in it's very best form.

It's of my opinion that each day that this site is up Drb sticks his neck out a little by giving us all this portal of information that some government entities would not like us to have. (Your's and mine)

Cozy is good.
Intelligent conversation on this entire subject is my objective.
Peace

If I had to disagree with anything, it would be that "all 30 posts can be the same day"--as I feel this could create a flood of pointless posts.

I agree with @Nubzor. This could turn into an issue, especially when the first group of lapsed Sr. Members are demoted.

I would consider reducing the number of new posts required from thirty to ten.

Everything else sounds peachy.

Rules are rules and there is a reason for them all. Lurkers like me will just have to post some won't we. Now I can go back to sleep for 89 more days. Thanks for keeping the forum clean.

I do not particularly like the ideal .I can understand partially the reasoning behind wanting to thin out members for some reason .i have not violated any major forum rules by offending anyone or posting info that should not be on here .
But I have lost a lot of interest in reading on the forum since I very seldom order pharmacy meds any longer .Not that I do not like them any longer .I discovered Kratom last May and have been ordering it domestically now more and more regularly .With larger and larger amounts [text removed by DrBoris. Please do not mention the names of schedule II controlled drugs which you have bought or intend to buy using info from this site. It is one of the forum rules].I have chronic pain from breaking most every bone in my body since I was very young .I was awarded permanent disability when I was 47 in February '97 .I do not have a drivers license cause I was charged with permitting a DUI in December '97 .They dismissed the charges a couple of months later when I went to court. But the West Virginia DMV discriminated against me and took my license before I went to court .The USA Constitution says a person is innocent until proven guilty .I appealed it but tore out my transmission and clutch in my '96 Suzuki SUV before the hearing .It took over 5 yrs to get the $1300 to but the parts to fix my SUV .I finally fixed it but tried waiting out the waiting period so that I would not have to take the DUI class over 20 miles away .They changed the law a year or 2 before my waiting perio was over .Which was 10 years since they counted it as 2nd offense DUI .My only choice has been to get a breathalyzer .The breathalyzer ,insurance tax,s and license plates will be over a $1000 .I bent a couple of valves and replaced all 16 of them in my 4 cylinder 1.8 cc DOHC motor .Someone vandalized it while i had it tore down .The USA put an embargo on ordering from Japan .I having trouble replacing the part someone vandalized but hope to have my SUV fixed within the next few months .
I may have got off topic but I wanted to explain part of why I have not been posting much .But I will try to post more in the future .I post occasionally in other parts of the forum sometimes besides the vendors forums .I have a low income but if I get my license back I will probably start getting my Medicare parts A.B and D back .So I can try getting on one of the pain clinics about 30 to 45 miles north of here .It cost too much to have someone else drive me .Plus I do not have anyone I can rely on even to drive me the 7 1/2 miles to the nearest grocery store .My post office is 10 miles away and my only transportation is 24 speed mountain bike .At 64 it is getting harder and harder for me to ride to the post office a round trip of 20 miles and another 15 miles round trip to go out to get my groceries .I enjoy going out sometimes by myself even if I can find someone to drive me .Despite all the accidents and surgeries the Kratom has helped me greatly restore my health .Buy I got sick recently since I am Hep C positive and went from 155 to 125 in 3 weeks .I am back up to 136 and have got part of my strenght back .136 is a long ways from the 196 at 5'8" it says on my drivers license I got back in November '95 .I am only 5'7" now due to my 2nd story deck falling with me on it a couple years back injuring my left shoulder and my back in several places Decompressing the discs making me 5'6 1/2 .it took a lot of self therapy and a long time for me to get back up just to 5'7" .

I am with SpaceMatters on this.. to require 30 posts after being demoted seems like a bit much. Could we consider maybe 10 or 15
posts for reinstatement instead?
