tapentadol is the worst pain medicine ever made

Recommended Pharmacies on Pharmacy Reviewer

@tedh Yeah that’s how I’d take it ONLY when really I’m need or you run the risk of addiction just like any other opiate medication
Deanzer…

@Deanzer I take maybe 1 to 2 a week at most and I only take them at night, never during the day. Some weeks I may not take any at all. Pain totally sucks but I’m not going to risk addition. Heat, ice and massage work wonders.

@Anne Onomis I struggle w depression and the Wellbutrin isn’t working. I had some tramadol cause I broke a rib w RSV last month. I was excited to try it because I wanted to see if my mood would lift. Man! It knocked me in my ass . Unfortunately, if I coughed I still doubled over in pain, but it knocked me out which helped me sleep w the injury. But I was bummed because there no way I could pop one and function “in real life” . I’m just gonna have to accept my reality as a relatively low functioning home body . Not so much sad as just have no urge to socialize like I used to

Glad to see/read others have noticed a difference in brand generics from overseas (and not just "this one works" versus "that one is weak"). I've come to learn that there is a very wide variety of not only issues of quality control, but also formulation and, hence, personal impact. As regards this thread, and as I previously relayed, I've noticed VERY big differences in TAP brands ranging from amazing to awful. Interestingly, on a few other boards, some folks have weighed in with the exact opposite response to specific brands as me... I would ascribe some of this, at least in part, to the subtle effect of different formulations on individual chemistry. With TAP, basically, the ratio of serotonin action to analgesia. I much prefer the latter, and have found some brands really lean into the former (if TRAM is your thing, you'd probably find them a delight)...

I got some samples out of nowhere last year from a vendor, I'm glad I tried them as they did work for me with no side effects other than usual opioid constipation being a bit worse than tram.

I should clarify on "works" though - I take tram for depression and it isn't a substitute for that. It doesn't have the energy boost and mellow wellbeing feeling, instead 100 mg hits just like 5-10 mg of oxy for me. Much more effective on pain than tram.

Given the situation out there, and that as India hasn't cracked down on it yet that there seem to be overseas options pretty reasonable, it might be the one thing that someone needing stronger pain control could get without needing thousands to spare. But there is that issue of the side effects for some.
Follow up, I see now too about the brands being different. I received an order just after posting this. The sample brand was Aspadol. Ordered Tapaday 200 mgs since it was best value per mg.

50 mg of those stronger than 100 mg of Aspadol. I'm having to carefully cut them down to try to get close to 25 mg for day pain, and only then if really necessary. Very different than tram - tram is mellow, I am more social on it but actually reflexes better (have tested it) and function basically normally. With this, I know I was under the influence. Too much for my tolerance. I'm going to be careful to limit them to my worst current pain, I could tell it could be trouble if I got dependent.

The only way they ‘worked’ for me was if I bit the up or crushed it. It hits hard but lasts a very short time that way. Otherwise it never did much taken whole.

Yeah i generally qtr the red apples and they certainly (Hit harder) that way!.

To follow up again - took a roughly 50 mg dose this weekend and this time did have a bad/strong reaction. Roughly an hour of intense euphoria followed by two of rapid heartbeat, dizziness, and serious panic attack. If I have to take it again for severe pain (it did work in that respect) will have to keep them to around 25 mg.

I took some time to look at reviews online after this happened, and something jumped out at me. The prices people are paying even with co-pays. 😲 Was seeing $500-$1,200 a month. What a racket. Paid way less with a US-US method, and prices from India far less than that. I know tram is dirt cheap to produce, guessing this can't be that much more?

Yeah, thinking it has to be close to where it would be at least... at least one review mentioning absurd prices was pretty recent, hopefully will change soon for those who need it!

I also had weird side effects when I tried taps. Auditory hallucinations (I could hear people talking around me but I was alone) and short-term memory loss. Tried them a couple times and these effects were consistent. They work ok for pain but I'd rather take 7-OH if I need something strong, which I only do occasionally, luckily

i agree... in terms of the opiate feeling and pain relief they provide .. a 100mg feels like 7.5-10 mg oxy for me.... the side effects ruin it for me personally though
