Building up and then maintaining a stockpile of your necessary medications is something I feel is very important. As all of us are within the same unpredictable world of the IOP, and the USPS, we need to try and be prepared. The disaster that hit the US on August 18 last year has forced many people to make some drastic changes in their ordering procedures.
More and more people are now willing to take the chance they have to take, making overseas online orders. The USA is in constant chaos over a war on drugs. Anyone and everyone who uses meds, legally and illegally, for legit pain needs and for getting high, are lumped together as one. We are all instantly labelled drug addicts and drug abusers.
The very nature of the IOP world is a gamble. The best IOP of this year, can turn into the biggest and worst ripoff, scam outfit next year. Therefore, I look at every order as if it may be my very last one. Because ,well, it really could be.
As I have gotten to know the forum, and read many posts, both to my threads and others, I have gotten to really like and appreciate everyone's willingness to both receive and give information.
So from my deductions, I think a majority of the people here are okay with ordering a ninety day supply of their most needed medications, but no more than that. I'm not going to argue for or against this logic.
So let's say you order a 90 day supply. Use it as per your dosage schedule until you have exactly a 30 day supply left. On that day reorder a new 90 day supply. You are now awaiting for your order to arrive, and have 30 days of meds in hand. Let's say the order comes in 14 days. Immediately take the remaining 16 day supply and put it in it's own storage area, by itself. This may look small, but it is the start of your stockpile.
Now start using the new order, until you once again have a 30 day supply left. Reorder. Maybe it comes in 10 days this time. Take the remaining 20 days worth you have left, and add it to the stockpile you started the last order. You now have a 36 day stockpile of doses stored away. Repeat this same scenerio every time. Even with varying deliveries, you will be able to add your remaining meds from the previous order to your stockpile every time.
It won't happen overnight, but you will be quite pleased at the way your little stockpile grows. Hopefully you never hit a snag in the IOP trail. It happens, it's part of the ongoing gamble we play. Maybe an order gets caught, maybe the vendor goes out of business or runs out of your meds. This is the time to fall back on and start using your stockpile. Consider it an emergency stash, as it should be. Look at it as your IOP insurance policy.
Now if you are reading this, you really have no reason to panic if any of these things happen. Being a member of this forum should ensure that you will soon have a new vendor. Don't delay or stall about finding one and ordering, as a stockpile will not last forever. It's there to get you through an emergency, and you need to end the emergency as soon as you can.
Your stockpile will also dramatically change your whole outlook on your ordering, and actually life overall. It will lift a load of stress off of your shoulders, just having the knowledge that it's there, it's growing, and it's a safety net to keep the worst enemy of us all away, the withdrawals.
I have some more advice about having a stockpile though. Some, maybe many people, just cannot handle the self control to remain on a strict ordering schedule. They also have a very hard time of staying on their normal daily doses. So many people just say" I see more, I have more, so I can take more. It doesn't work that way. There is a lot of self control and will power needed to keep a running stockpile going. I am sure there are many who have or are building one know just what I mean. If you stock up excess meds, then go overboard and use bigger doses, more often, just because you have it, you will have problems.
The short time of increased enjoyment from using more meds until gone, will be replaced with likely an even worse withdrawal than you would normally have. Not only will you be coming off of higher usage amounts, the depression of knowing how you depleted and wiped out your emergency stash, especially when in withdrawals, will be all the harder to accept.
So you can see, it really doesn't take a lot of money or making big orders to build up that emergency stash. I would advise everyone to give this an honest try. You might be pleasantly surprised, and will certainly be relieved of some stress. No more counting on one hand your remaining pills, while desperately checking and rechecking for tracking updates. No more sleepless nights, wondering and praying for your order to arrive. Heck, even for it to move from A to B! No more laying in bed shivering, barely able to get up just enough to use the toilet and check the computer, as you withdraw out of meds, begging God for the mailman to just somehow today bring that letter!
Ordering a 90 day supply at the frequency of every 2 months should be agreeable to most of you, no matter how cautious. I would just like to see everyone here waiting on orders while feeling fine, not stressing and in withdrawals. I would venture to say maybe some of the senior members who have been around here forever might just have a system like this. It could be the reason they're still around giving advice and helping people. That's just a guess though.
Anyway, this thread is for those who think it takes a lot of money or the willingness to make big orders. It really doesn't have to be done that way at all. All it really takes is self discipline and self control, and the strong commitment to making your orders exactly when you need to. I hope this might help someone who has never been able to, or just never tried to stockpile. Being ahead is the best feeling to have in the IOP world. I want everyone to have that feeling.
Let me know if you agree with any of this, or maybe you have a better way to do it. Somebody might even be against a stockpile, and that's fine. Feel free to share why you do or don't like the stockpile idea, everyone's opinions and advice is always welcome to me.
