The importance of a stockpile

Recommended Pharmacies on Pharmacy Reviewer

I wish stockpiling was something that worked for me. I find that no matter how hard I try, I can't keep focused or committed enough for stockpiling. My life, like so many others changes over time. Maybe it's financial. Maybe I decide to not treat my illness with medication. Maybe I move or move on. What I've learned from all this, is that life is life and no matter how much I plan, I can't stop life. So I always expect to have medication problems at some point.

I keep a reserve b/c my anxiety disorder would be over the top, worrying about a shortage. When I have more, I take less interesting phenomenon
Taking less when you have more isn't that uncommon, imho. Something about the worry of running out makes the meds more "dear' and more on one's mind. At least that's been my experience. If I feel comfortable knowing I have plenty to take when needed I feel way less urgency.

On the other hand, if it's too easy or available I can catch myself being more cavalier than I like. But the issue with tolerance tends to bring me back to reality the fastest.

Stockpile advantage, not getting caught short. Disadvantage, going away for life if I ever catch a CD

This post just clicked with me. I agree it's very easy to take less the more you have. It's very true

I recently found myself moving off of benzos and on to O-DSMT, which is getting harder and harder to get. So I stocked up for good while and I find that I don't feel the need to over indulge. I wish I could go back the other way, benzos are so much easier to get. Well, they used to be, looks like old hound might be down for the count.

i think sometimes weaning off and doing a smaller dose can help create extra too.. and it can make your tolerance lower which can be a win win

For grey market GLP peptides (one of my main independent meds), I’m not sure if I want to be on for life or not. But in any case my mentality has been to always maintain about a year of supply. It feels like right spot where I have enough to get through supply disruptions but not too much that I overinvested (purity has gone up a ton, and prices have dropped a ton in the last year). Currently a year supply of sema, tirz, or reta is between 100-400 ish depending on which of the three and a few other factors (cheapest vendor vs vendor with reputable testing etc).

Having a stockpile of medication (of all types) is good practice in my opinion. And by all types I really do mean all across the spectrum. Whether it's antibiotics or something else.

Yes, I realize this begins to go sound like "prepper" talk but better to have something on-hand than to be in a crunch and subject yourself through multiple hoops just for antibiotics! That said, and someone with more tenure here than me correct my if I am wrong, stockpiling medication which are let's say more "difficult" to obtain seems like a daunting task.

I hope I am proven wrong though!

It’s really about how much money you have to spend. You can probably stockpile most anything if you have resources to purchase enough (and aren’t way over imbibing. 🤔

@CoralSpringsPete Damn - that would stress me out completely to be reordering every month with my back to the wall. 😱

Hypothetically, with financial resources being no factor, I am hopeful I am able to find the medication I require. So far I haven't had much luck searching through hundreds of pages of search results - without being able to do further due diligence I don't want to risk falling into a scam. :(

There are a couple other boards as well - have you checked any out? Less reliable info tho. But you’ll be a senior here soon as well. What you’re seeking isn’t that hard to find but likely more expensive than before, sadly…😔

I've always stockpiled, but I worry about expiration. Is there any (reliable) information put together regarding valid expiration issues? I know it varies between medications, but I wish I knew more than that.

@fishbulb I can find the study later but basically very few pills ever actually expire ever. Syrups and special exception compounds do though.

@rkl123 Thank you! That (the fact that most never expire) would make my life so much easier. I hate being paranoid about things like that.
