These are the drugs Mounjaro and Ozempic. I tried Ozempic and it did with but I couldn’t get past the fatigue. I have read that tirz is less likely to cause that. I’m interested in trying it. I’ve seen some peptide and research chem places carrying it. Cheaper than going through a medical provider. Thoughts?

I used semaglutide peptide (Ozempic/Wegovy) for a few months and the side effects were brutal...lost a few lbs. Then I switched to Tirzepatide (Monjaro) Peptide and this was much easier and not so much side effects, lost the rest to below goal weight. Still taking the Tirze in Maintenance. Lots of sources for the Peptides, unlike the big Pharma versions. But choose wisely. ;-)

Ok, also looking into this. Which variation has the least side effects

Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) is the one with the least side effects for most people. I have graduated to using Retatutide as well (LILY still has it in testing and not FDA approved.) Kind of remarkable to take something before doctors can prescribe it. So far it is working, very mild. I only use peps that are tested, pure and authentic. Lily had to give out the peptide chain for their patent, so the Reta formula is out.

With Tirz, you reconstitute with Bacteriostatic H20 and subcu pin 2.5 Mg to start, then build up doses every month to a max of 15 mg. Lots of info on the Mounjaro website. I lost my weight mostly on 2.5 MG, but after 9 months I use more to keep the "food noise" away.

@fnh. Seems like the folks who lose a ton of weight quickly, have a ton of weight to lose . Moderately chunky folks lose weight, but progress for me is slowwwww. I’m down two Jean sizes, I’ve been on for 6 months. Maybe 17lbs? Other than some constipation, I had no notable side effects. I’m a firm believer (especially when you’re a bit older) that too much weight loss makes u look older and skin crepier….wrinkles more pronounced …skin less elastic. So I’m researching if folks have had any success with a mantainance protocol . I read one article written by a physician who thinks that a slow taper followed by occasional low dose might keep regained weight at bay? We’ll have to see !

Zepbound I think. Asked my pharma guy. Not yet available in Canada unfortunately

@fnh Can you share where you get your peptides from?
Here are a few to start. These are Domestic US cos, make sure you see a posted COA by Janoshik for the batch that applies to the vial you are purchasing:

Also Limited Life Nootropics, and Peptide Sciences are well thought of leaders in Peptide field.

Also Arctic Peptides...they are in Canada.

There are more of these sites, but these are legit and have done the homework for you, or just make sure that a current Certificate of Analysis is provided. You will need insulin s-y-r-inge and Bacteriostatic Water to reconstitute.

If you are starting Tirz, the initial dose should be no more than 2.5 MG. So if you buy 10 mg vial, with Bac 1 ml and take one quarter of this for your dose. There are You Tube videos with more info;

So that is about $100 for your first month instead of $1200 via a pharmacy.

If you don't like the medication (some peeps don't) you are only out the $100,
but if you like it, I can share direct China Sources that sell by the 10 vial pack, so like 100 MG a box @ a cheaper price.

YMMV

I hear you! Lots of 300-400+ lb peeps losing crazy amounts on these meds.

And BIG CONGRATS on losing 2 jean sizes! Slow & steady wins the race.

Actually, I am 70 yo, LOL! It is healthier to be slightly higher BMI as we age from a health perspective, and yes the wrinkles aren't flattering. I won't lie, I have visited the Botox & filler doctor since I started losing more weight...it is what it is!

On maintenance, you can taper or spread out injection over several weeks instead of weekly. So far, I like continuing my dosing, because I like the feel of being able to eat less frequently. Plus the cost is minimal using peptides.

@fnh. This makes sense to me. Strangely, even on 200 mg dose, maybe three times in six months have I felt that “I couldn’t eat another bite” feeling . And I’ve used the pens, professionally compounded and the home mixed. I’m afraid they’ll feel in the peptide availability because THEY RUIN EVERYTHING! I found after fifty, when I lose weight, regardless the way, my skin hangs and is crepey. Just won’t bounce back. I look better in clothes (and no one cares what I look like without em! )

If you think I am nuts for using Retatrutide before the FDA approves it, Lily trial results are showing it eliminated Fatty Liver disease in 85% of participants. Simply amazing! Big pharma has not found a medication that does this so far.

What does it typically take to qualify for a prescription for one of these for weight loss out of curiosity?

I started taking semaglutide peptide mixed with bac. Water in June 2023. It made me so sick I was constantly vomiting 🤢 2.5mg for about 1 month. I lost about 15 pounds.
I tempted fate and bought Tirzepatide peptide mixed with bacteriostatic water.
I'm now taking 5mg once a week. Luckily no side effects. I've lost a total of 40 pounds so far. I'm still on 5mg once a week.
I'm happy I haven't had to up my dose yet.
But I have 20 more to lose, so I will probably have too.

@wow, @songsiren, that's a big accomplishment. congrats!! losing weight is really hard and 40 lbs is impressive.
Just filled RX for 8 weeks @ 0.25. first injection planned for the morning. Developed eating habits during covid.
Really hope this helps. Starting at 0.25

Footnote: Sincere apologies to member @tycho for my unprovoked attack.
