What series have you binge watched lately?

I'm not sure if this would satisfy the definition of 'binge' because there's only 4 episodes to devour - but BBCs Boiling Point is a great watch.

For those interested, it's a continuation of the 2021 film starring Stephen Graham - all set in a busy London restaurant on one very stressful evening - and it was filmed entirely in one continuous take. The series delves more deeply into these characters lives and it's a shame there's only 4 episodes.

So whether it was a binge or a nibble, it gets my recommendation.

Bad Sisters on Apple TV. Highly recommend this one.👍🏻👍🏻

It’s a dark comedy filmed in Ireland and follows the five Garvey sisters as four of them despise the show’s villain, JP. He is married to their sister, Grace. The first episode begins with JP deceased and the story takes off with the “who dunnit” theme.

Oh and a fun fact- Bono’s daughter, Eve Hewson, is one of the sisters and I thought she was terrific. Superbly acted series with a clever story line.

Godfather of Harlem is an excellent series on MGM+. It's a mobster series featuring Forest Whitaker playing Bumpy Johnson, Paul Sorvino and Vincent D'Onofrio playing mafia mob bosses. Not only is it entertaining but there are characters in the series based on true life people, so it makes for an interesting and thought provoking experience. Has anyone seen it yet? There are has three seasons and each season has about 10 episodes. I highly recommend it!

Hmm thanks for the suggestion I will go check it out.

Three little Birds written by Lenny Henry. I watched it all on catch up and was into but thought the ending was dire. Obviously left it like that to see if the ratings deserve a 2nd series.

Mrs Siddhu Investigates is easy to watch, very lightweight and you can feel good by solving the crimes before the cast.

Bodies on Netflix. 8 episode miniseries based on a graphic novel. Little bit of time travel, sci-fi, and crime murder mystery. "Four detectives in four different time periods of London find themselves investigating the same murder."

Solid, but a few unresolved plot holes and some breaking of their own time travel "rules". Still would recommend it!

Just finished watching Suits for the first time - and it was amazing ! It was not a show I'd ever considered watching, as I thought from the title that it would be a superficial show about lawyers, and their extravagant lifestyles, clothes, etc. But nothing could be further from the truth, this is an incredibly well written and acted series, with fantastic actors ( Gabriel Macht, Rick Hoffman, and Sarah Rafferty all stand out ) - and the dialogue is witty and sharp. And as someone who suffers from social anxiety, I've actually found some confidence by trying to think and talk in the same way as the most confident character on the show - Harvey Specter. I'm not saying that I try to actually talk or behave like he does, but I've found that when I get anxious, asking myself "what would Harvey Specter say or do" - helps to relax me a little, and sometimes even boosts my confidence in social situations. Anyways, if you've never watched it, I recommend giving it a shot. Just watch the Pilot - and if you have the option ( Netflix gives it in some countries ) - watch the extended Pilot which is about 10 minutes longer than the version that originally aired.
